The truth of the internet

This video clip was actually very interesting, I remember the dot com bust and all of the boom that came before, but had no idea that to get the leg up on the competition that amazon took profit hits to get more people. Basically I feel that future online businesses are going to be kind of out of luck. I feel that it takes a lot of trust and backing to make a truly successful online company and with these two huge online giants amazon and ebay. I feel that the market is just not there for new businesses. For one to start up I feel that they would have to partner up with some other giant looking to get into the game, such as microsoft or whoever, and try to stay finically afloat while taking on the same principles as amazon and try to grow big fast. Once you get some growth and you feel that you have found your spot in the online marketplace you have to keep constantly improving it, to give it something that the other two are not offering to set your self apart from them and try to keep the new people you have started to attract. Another important key feature I think you must offer is paypal access, because they tend to offer a little more hope of safety for the consumer who does not normally buy online but is wanting to try. When I personally see the paypal logo it helps set in my mind that this is a real company and not some scammer. So, with added security and constantly trying to keep up with some unique features that set you apart will be your keys to success on keeping your new company afloat. You have to get a name out on the market at first and I feel that it will take a lot of money and some time of losing more money to fight these giants, so it will be hard to convince a financial supporter to keep dumping money in to your business while he sees no money return. So good luck to all you future business owners, not saying it is impossible, just expect a bumpy and long road to success.
